Service Description

Acoustic waves generated by the Shockwave trigger biological effects which lead to faster and long-term healing and regeneration of the tissue. Shockwave therapy (SWT) covers a wide range of indications which includes, but not limited to: 1. Calcium deposit on the underside of the heel bone (heel spur) which are closely associated with scarring or inflammation of the plantar fascia (plantar fasciitis). 2. Medial tibial stress syndrome typically occurs due to activities placing large amounts of stress through the tibialis anterior muscle (anterior leg). These activities may include fast walking or running (especially up or downhill or on hard or uneven surfaces) or sporting activity (such as sports that involve kicking and pivoting). 3. Tendinitis or Tendinosis are a cumulation of microtraumas from repetitive overloading which can result in chronic tendinopathy. Tendinopathies can affect the legs, ankles and feet. Both inflammation of the tendon and damage on the cellular level are successfully treated with Shockwave. *The number of sessions is typically 3–5 session, 5–10 days between each session.
